It is a singleplayer game with no relevant online functionalities, no harm can be done to others whatsoever, it can't affect your own experience. Cheats are possible in this game and easy to do. To anyone about to comment "boo cheats me report you". Thinking about it, I don't know if having a Mac (instead of Windows) could prevent some parts of this "process". I could go into more details about that "AB mod option", but later and only if you ask for (got something to do right now). Requires a file unpacker ("Rick's Unpacker", typically), a text editor (Notepad++, Geany, whatever), and basic understanding of how the game reads its files. To change them, you'd have to close the game, make the edits, and launch the game again. However, you could create a simple, custom mod for AB which edits your starting items. About "spawning items", I don't think you can do that while in-game. Any tutorial about freezing memory values should do the trick.
