![]() ![]() If we're going to get technical my first piece of software I used to create music was the WavePad sound editor included in my very first PC, an eMachines 75mhz Windows 95 piece of work with a ONE GB hard drive and a 14k modem. The pic is the closest I could find, it's not too far off. But like 4 track PortaStudio's and crude syncing up of MIDI devices, the limitations of the software didn't stop me from having a blast with it. I would record a guitar loop with a mic or input something (loops, keyboards, vinyl) into the aux in jack and then edit the sounds into something. If it was cool I'd use the headphone out and feed it into my recording set-up, a Tascam 488mkII eight track PortaStudio and a Tascam DA-30mkII DAT machine. The WavePad program had rudimentary editing and effects. I think reverse, ability to change the sample rates, and stereo or mono was it. The version I used didn't have reverb or compression, etc. I learned to really dig the gritty A/D-D/A converters, being a mid level Best Buy computer meant the RAM, the sound card, the speakers, etc. were pretty low end so imagine the converters were too. Is that the same as MTV Music Generator?īefore I produced music in FL Studio 3 on PC, I made beats on a PS1 with MTV Music Generator, lol. Some of those screen shots look very similar but there are some differences. I think maybe it had more options to create and add visuals to your beats, or something? Or maybe it had some kind of DJ mixing type function? They also brought out a sequel to the first Music program called Music 2000 which I also had but I always thought the first one was still better and more editable.įunnily enough, I keep meaning to start a thread here and upload some of my old tracks made on the first Playstation Music software, just for a laugh because it is very funny listening back to them, and wondering if anyone else here had any recordings they made with this software.ĭude. □ Not only that, but since I didn't know jackshit about hard clipping back then, a lot of recordings came out hella said:ĭude. I have all of the original recordings stored safely in Dropbox, lol. I also used to have the Windows version of MTV Music Generator, so I was able to add my voice to the music. Let's just say my singing and voice used to really, really suck. ![]() □ Not only that, but since I didn't know jackshit about hard clipping back then, a lot of recordings came out hella distorted. Lol that’s great! I stored my stuff on mini disc back then in the 90s. (No PC then.still no PC now haha)Īll still working and playing fine. Just have to get it from mini disc deck into iPad and then upload to Dropbox or Soundcloud. Think I’ve got an audio interface somewhere for that. If I get stuff uploaded and start a thread, I’ll be tagging you for adding links to your old Playstation music uploads! Really interested to know what others made with that old console software in particular.Pros: I absolutely adore this software, i have several reasons for that, it is also the first video editing software i used. I have been using this software from last 6 years now, and for 5 years it remained my primary video editing software. ![]()
